Nurse Practitioners

The Practice currently has four Nurse Practitioners who have specialist skills and experience. They all run their own clinics and can offer assessment and advice on minor illnesses, minor injuries, home care, and medication available from the chemist without a prescription, and a wide range of other medical issues. Nurse practitioners are qualified experienced nurses, educated up to a Masters degree level, who work as independent, autonomous practitioners. Nurse practitioners training enables them to perform an in-depth clinical physical examination, initiate investigations where necessary, reach a diagnosis, advise on treatments and where necessary prescribe medication for acute problems and refer to other members of the healthcare team where appropriate or necessary. The Nurse Practitioners are available daily as part of Clinician Call Back and by appointment on request. Nurse Practitioners are able to prescribe independently. A Doctor is always available to review you if the Nurse Practitioner feels it is necessary.

Pharmacists

Our Pharmacists don’t work in chemists, dispensing your medication, but in Practice alongside our GPs, Nurses and Admin staff. They support the Practice by dealing with complex medication queries, reviewing patient medication, and doing work in the background to ensure everyone is on the best medication for their needs. You might end up speaking to a Pharmacist about your medication, but don’t worry! They have lots of specialised training, and free up the GP’s time so they can help you with other things. For example, both a GP and a Pharmacist can help you with a medication question. But only a GP could help if you had stomach pain. By having Pharmacists, we can provide more GP appointments for when it’s really needed.
  • IMRAN KAZI

Pharmacy Technicians

Our Pharmacy Technicians work in Practice with the rest of our team. They’re often doing work in the background, like: Reviewing hospital letters to make sure your repeat prescriptions are kept up-to-date Helping the reception team with simple queries to make sure you don’t have to wait too long for an answer to any questions Doing back office tasks to ensure simple medication reviews are done They help the Practice in so many different ways, and because they’re able to take care of the things mentioned above, your GP has more time for appointments to help you!

Health Coaches support you to plan and create realistic steps to reach your health goals. They help you find a reason for change and to overcome what might be getting in the way of it. They have time to listen and work with you about the things that matter to you. If you have a lifestyle related condition, such as obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure, or chronic pain, and want to make a positive change, you can see a Health Coach in Practice now.
